The Rodeo Sanitary District entered into a Franchise Agreement with Richmond Sanitary on March 9, 2022 for the collection, removal, and disposal of solid waste and the recycling of material for the town of Rodeo.
Senate Bill 1383 is a 2016 California law aimed at reducing methane emissions by reducing the amount of organic waste in landfills. It requires all residents and businesses to separate organics materials (food scraps, green waste) for recycling and to subscribe to an organics waste collection service.
